The CrossFit Games 2021 are on the horizon, and many of the participants are incredibly excited. There will be women's competitions in addition to the regular men's and women's competitions. The women's competition, Pegboard contests, Cutting system and Reebok equipment are all well-known. But, do you really know what to expect? Keep reading to find out! Competition for women
The women's competition at the 2021 Crossfit Games began this morning with the swim event. Tia-Clair Toomey-Orr and Jonne Koski won in the first event. Koski was the overall winner after keeping her lead throughout the competition. Tall and Eramoo Connell were second and third, each. It was the first Games women's event and the women hoped to complete it.
The women's contest is filled with high-level athletes. The field includes nine athletes, including a 19-year-old powerhouse who won the competition in Australia last year. Kara Saunders (Australian athlete) finished second in Australia. She was also eleventh worldwide for 2020. Andrea Nisler was also a rising star. In 2018, she competed in team division and came in third in the United States. She finished fifteenth in 2020. These athletes will be joined by Sara Sigmundsdottir from Iceland, who was awarded the first place medal at the World Crossfit Games earlier in the year.
Pegboard contest
Pegboard contest at Crossfit Games 2121 was a new concept. It was also added to the Games' Olympic summer program. With 30 wins, Toomey-Orr holds the record for the most Games events won. Sager won Event 11 men's and received his third Games win. There were several tie in the contest but Toomey Orr's dominance was too strong to stop him winning.

CrossFit Games is a training program that focuses on 10 general fitness skills. These include strength, flexibility, power and speed as well as cardiovascular endurance. Pegboard tests the grip strength and coordination of competitors. The competitors compete by holding two wooden stakes between their fingers. The competition was fierce, and the athletes were left feeling a sense of accomplishment after completing the Pegboard.
Cutting system
The CrossFit Games will once again employ a cutting system for the individual competition. This is not as extreme as past Games cuts, but it is very different this year. The competition has 15 individual events. Therefore, it's likely that the first cut of 30 athletes will occur after the seventh or eight event. CrossFit must also answer the question of how it will adjust the points following cuts. The scoring table used in the 2019 games was nearly identical to the one used in 2021, so it's likely that this will continue to be the case.
This year's CrossFit Games field includes 236 athletes. It is the largest ever. Major cuts are made in the first six events. The field is now reduced to 75. The top 30 competitors then compete in the sprint couplet to determine which athlete is number ten. From there, the top 20 athletes compete in the remaining six events. Castro's system was criticised by veteran Games participants, who felt that the cuts were too significant.
Reebok's equipment
Reebok recently announced new CrossFit Games equipment, including clothing and shoes. The new shoes are the Nano X1. They're made to fit multiple fitness needs. Although Reebok calls this shoe "the shoe for fitness", it feels more like a training shoe. DuPont's Kevlar fabric is used for the upper, which promotes breathability and durability. The shoes' responsiveness is enhanced thanks to the RopePro tech and the firm midsole.

CrossFit's agreement with Reebok will end at 2020. No title sponsor will be available for the Games. Reebok has sponsored these Games for over a decade. However, it now appears that the company's involvement in the Games is decreasing. Reebok will no longer sponsor the Games' prize money, but it will continue to manufacture all the athletic apparel and equipment used by athletes, including the Reebok gear. The company will no more refer to itself by the name "Reebok Fitness Games", as it does right now.
